I finally found some of the information I was looking for on this LP. I now know that the instrumental tracks were cut at Columbia Recording Studios on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood in early April 1967 and the vocals and other overdubs were cut in Detroit at Hitsville and Golden World between May and October 1967. Frank Wilson and Jeffrey Bowen produced the entire album. The arranging was done by Oliver Nelson, H.B. Barnum and Don Costa. The rhythm section was made up of Don Randi on piano, Howard Roberts, Tommy Tedesco, Arthur Wright and Carol Kaye on guitar, Jimmy Bond and Ray Brown on bass, Earl Palmer on drums and Gary Coleman and Walter Anderson on percussion. The cream of the crop of L.A.'s horn players were utilized as well as Sid Sharp's string section. Dave Blumberg, Allen DeRienzo, Bob Hartley, Russell Brown, Marion Sherrill, Robert Gibson, Don Lanclos and Graydon Klee served as copyists throughout the L.A. sessions. The album was released on November 27, 1967 on Gordy GS 924.
