Is there a website that lists every single Stax single and album released? There are ones for Motown and detroit labels, but I've yet to find one for Stax.

There are several Stax discographies. I can't cut and paste links, but you can Google- "Stax Discographies."

It seems all discographies i've found online so far, are woefully incomplete:

This one seems to be the best bet for singles:

The one for Stax singles is the one I was thinking of. If he goes to BothSidesNow and finds the Stax story or history, the discography for Stax will include albums after 1968 and albums on Enterprise, Volt and other sub labels. Some Stax reissues by Fantasy are also there.

It appears that all three of the Stax/Volt singles box sets are now out of print. The 9-CD first set [[1959-1968), the Atlantic owned stuff, is no longer available from Amazon, although new and used copies are available from Amazon market place sellers. The individual volumes of this set were also issued separately in the UK and some of those are still available from market place sellers at widely varying prices, depending on the volume.

The Amazon web site states that the second box set [[1968-1971) is temporarily out of stock. Amazon has been saying that for six months--it's highly unlikely that they will be getting any more. There are three market place sellers that have used sets available. But those start at $128.98. I would say you got a pretty good deal for $40, Daddyacey.

Amazon does still have new copies of the 10-CD third box set [[1972-75) available through a market place seller. However, that third set is very inconsistent and hard to wholeheartedly recommend.

Shout Factory is putting out a 3-CD Otis Redding box set this summer entitled "Complete Stax Volt Singles Collection" which contains both sides of all his singles. It's somewhat ironic that the entire contents of the third disc, which consists of posthumously released material, was not originally released on either the Stax or Volt labels. His last 14 singles were released on the Atco label.
