Bob Cattaneo used to be a huge seller of Motown 45's in the mid to late 1980's. He previously lived in Daly City, CA.

Does anyone know his whereabouts today? Thank you for a response if you do.

I just learned yesterday that Bob died about 7 years ago. I had lost touch with him but I purchased hundreds of Motown 45's from him before the 1990's. A friend who knew him told me this. The friend is not a forum member.

Thanks to everyone for reading the thread.

Sorry to hear that he has passed on. i used to visit him a lot when I lived in San Mateo in the beginning of the 1970s. He sold off his Motown collection in the late '70s, and built it up again, and then sold it off again in the 1990s.

I was fortunate to have experienced VILLAGE MUSIC. It was quite something, quite the place. Once was on a mission to find the soundtrack of TEMPEST [[1982), directed by Paul Mazursky, many years later because it included TANGO written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller that I had loved immediately upon seeing the film. Not one store of the many I checked out or contacted knew what I was talking about. But VILLAGE MUSIC--they had 2 copies! And there you have it. That fantastic store in a nutshell.

My favorite place in the world when I lived in Marin County CA.

John Goddard spent almost his entire life building Village Music.

For a music fan, pure heaven. Sadly closed a few years ago due to escalating rent in this very wealthy enclave, Mill Valley CA.

Part of it became a nail salon.

John was a great friend.
