Barbara McNair had that cool, aloof image like Diahann Carroll. She was lovely to look at and cut some fine records while at Motown. But she was a semi-name before she signed with Motown, working nightclubs and recording albums of standards and show tunes. She also acted quite a bit, appearing with Elvis in Change Of Habit; Raymond St. Jacques in If he Hollers...., and with Sidney Poitier. She also appeared in a rarely seen episode of the Jeffersons where she played a woman who was going to shoot George Jefferson, who had I think, jilted her,

Thanks, Kamasu. Nice bio on Barbara. Always loved her. I remember seeing "Change Of Habit" at our neighborhood movie theater when it came out in the late 60's; Mary Tyler Moore was also in the film. I also saw her not long ago on an old Flip Wilson episode - I had forgotten that she had appeared on his show. Always a class act...
