Yes, they do look lovely but really have you ever heard a bad word about the Velvelettes ? They are truly troopers and always classy and ladies. I guess I never really realized that they broke up in 1969............duh !!! I always thought they remained an act.

Cal had never seen it before but suggested it would have been taken during the Caravan of Stars tour!

Hello John,

I too enjoy the Velvelettes. However, the only one I can point out is and always has been Cal. In the above pic, who are the other two Velvelettes. I believe I know which one is Norma and I don't think she's one of the two above or is she?

Tyrone. You're absolutely spot on. Norma is not there as she was not on that tour.

So the line up is as follows:

Left to right: Cal, Diana McBride McLean, Milly and Bertha is extreme right

John I believe it was April 1963, and The Velvelettes were the first to appear at the Coconut Grove in Ohio. Ask Cal if she remembers who took the photograph.............:o

Looks like a great effort is being made to ask all Motown Alumni to these events. Nice.

Seriously, do you think Diana will attend with the other Motown folk... Particularly if Mary is there?

Tyree cheers to The Velvelettes for maintaining such a positive image. I hope that they continue to have some earning power. They deserved it!!!

Diana will arrange to be touring in Europe or otherwise engaged when it opens ~ that is my bet.

The other alumni will of course flock there when invited.

If Diana showed, especially around Berry, all it will do is hurt feelings because the press will make a big scene around her and they won't know a lot of the other folks.

So, why go?
