Saw the original "Sweethearts of Soul" with Francine "Peaches" Barker back in 1966 & 67. I remember the green suit Herb wore with green Allegator shoes, lol............

Mike,
Give her a raise. Or buy her something expensive...

What was noticeable was just how well turned out every performer was at that concert. Every performer had take the time, expense and the effort to look like and carry themselves as professionals. All adds to the experience and showmanship

My girl, Shirley and I used to sing "Let's Fall in Love" back in the day. I was Herb. LOL! Not sure if I saw them at the Uptown or not as I went to many shows but for the wrong reasons. Hint: boys.

If she was the original, she would be the youngest looking 65 year old I ever did see.......
from Wikipedia,

A fifth "Peaches," Wanda Makle, subsequently performed with Fame in weekend appearances,[14] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaches_%26_Herb#cite_note-14) and in 2008 they were reported to be planning a recording together.[10] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaches_%26_Herb#cite_note-Where_are_.E2.80.A6_Peaches_.26_Herb.3F-10) Those plans dissolved, and instead Makle was ultimately dropped in favor of the sixth "Peaches," Meritxell Negre [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meritxell_Negre) from Barcelona, Spain.
Negre, who was introduced to Fame by known producer Bill Davis, is the first-ever non-black "Peaches" and third recording artist to co-record a Peaches and Herb album.[15] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaches_%26_Herb#cite_note-15) Together, Fame and Negre recorded "Colors of Love," the first album from Peaches & Herb since 1983. Combined with Fame’s classic, zesty tenor flair, Negre’s soulful, alto-soprano range seamlessly replaces Linda Greene 25 years after the Peaches & Herb album “Remember.”[16] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaches_%26_Herb#cite_note-16) "Colors of Love" was released in May 2009 by Imagen Records, approximately three months after Negre's stage debut as "Peaches."[17] [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaches_%26_Herb#cite_note-17)
