Look at when it was recorded. That will give you a clue. Its an old track that Tammi dubbed her vocal on.

Thanks John i found an old thread of the song on SDF,it was recorded in 63 by Ann Bogan ,Tammi added vocals to track 66,So would it be Harvey Fuqua and Spinners maybe,still no clue to female backups,actually im no wiser than before,want to help me out John, cheers .
