I just looked at the new Documentary "AKA DOC POMUS" [[Doc's birthname is Jerome Felder), it's going around in all the Film Festivals,
Doc's daughter our dear friend Sharyn Felder Bratton sent the DVD to us because she didn't want us to have to wait until there finally was a showing here in Las Vegas. Sharyn has always been Jimmy's Spiritual Daughter. Doc loved Jimmy since they met in 1947 and championed his comeback in the late 80's. Big Joe Turner was Doc's favorite Blues Singer and Jimmy his favorite ballad singer.

If Doc's documentary comes to your city don't walk run to see it, it's that good! Sharyn worked on this doumentary for ten years.
Over ten years ago she filmed us sitting around her loft while Jimmy, Lou Reed, & Joel Dorn were discussing Doc. You'll see some of that but so much more with all the history of the music and industry greats, including the Brill Bulding song writers, and so much more.
What a great piece of history for any music fan!

I know you've been waiting to see this one, S.S.. It sounds good and I hope it's very successful. "Doc" deserves the accolades for sure, and I'm thrilled Jimmy is a part of it.

Yes Mary.......
People don't realize how important Doc was to the music business and just how prolific a songwriter he was. I didn't even know he wrote all those hits, especially for the black artists, they loved him.
This is an important historical documentary on many levels, the N.Y. story, him holding court in the Forrest Hotel every day in lobby [[across the street from the Brill Building when he wasnt in it, lol, & Colony Records on 49th Street) are legendary. Doc was a true hipster!!!

S.S.

I admit to not knowing the songs Doc wrote. Could you please list some of them. They may have been on the record above, but with my laptop, I can't read them.

Thanks.

The film has been getting great reviews in all the film festivals from what Doc's daughter tells me.

Doc was the ultimate "Songwriter's Songwriter" according to all the other songwriters from the Brill Building days.
