That album was/is truly remarkable. If I offered numbered ratings on albums [[1 thru 10), there might only be a dozen 10s that I'm aware of [[probably fewer than that), but "Talking Book" is beyond a doubt one of them. Thanks for the link.

If you wonder why I post this, it's because these two versions represent the best sound for this album that there is. The remastered Motown CD sounds horrible in comparison, and the iTunes AAC and mp3s from elsewhere sound awful.

If Music of My Mind was the adult Stevie's opening statement Talking Book was where he
made his case in full. We had run of the mill r&b and soul, no knocks, much of it very good
but Stevie was on some other sh*t with this release. The harmonica on Big Brother was like
no other harp I'd heard before. The rock elements, especially with Jeck Beck threw my crew
for a loop but I wore this album out...good review, funky...
