I don't know how many SPers in the USA are aware of Jools Holland and his R&B Orchestra, but they are very popular in the UK, and feature an amazing home grown singer, Ruby Turner. She is completely versed in the American Gospel, blues and Soul tradition, and together they rock like you wouldn't believe. Check this one out.

Yep, Jools is a gudun.
His NYE BBC TV show featured Ruby & his orchestra ..........
plus we got 2 live songs from Bettye [[LaVette) + 3 from Bobby [[Womack).
On the stroke of Midnight [[as 2013 started), Jools called Bobby up front & centre and we got a fine rendition of "I'm A Midnight Mover".
We really do 'Keep The Faith' here in the UK.

BTW, Bobby put on a great show ....... EVEN THOUGH ......
at 68 he has trouble remembering songs and names.
Doctor's have told him that he has the early signs of Alzheimer's. It's not too bad yet but it can only get worse.
He only just returned to music after having surgery for prostate and colon cancer and suffering pneumonia twice and collapsed lungs.
What a true survivor the man is.

That man can play anything he wants. Been following him since his Squeeze days and, of course, when he was paired with David Sanborn on the short-lived, Sunday Night program.
