That is an interesting question. I noticed too that they seem to drop it pretty early on. I can't remember but is it on any of their live recorded performance albums?

If im recalling correctly Andy or George said on Midnight Johnnys show that they asked Mary why it got dropped from the live act and she recalled that it was seen as too similar sounding to Baby Love so they cut it.

A live version of WDOLG is part of the live show material included on the WDOLG 40th Anniversary Edition. That's the only live version of it I recall [[excluding performances such as those of The T.A.M.I. Show and other non-nightclub events). Recorded at The 20 Grand. It probably would have been impossible not to do it at that time.

The live version was so boring, there was no way to recapture the acoustics of the studio recording. Ross was also so nasal on the live version

Bayou Man is right. On record, Where Did Our Love Go is a classic record. Live, it slips into bubblegum pop pretty quickly. It was a wise decision to drop it. It is also one of the best Supremes/Diana Ross records around. As TCMS says.......after the release of Where Did Our Love Go, "Motown was never the same again".
