Howdy, All! Now that the first of the holidays is slipping out of our grasp....join me tonight for 3 hours of
Alternate and Demo versions of songs that you most likely know...maybe a few that you don't.
The genre of music covers the gammit...from Motown to great American Songbook...psychedelic to classical...
and everything in between and on the edges.

FYI....on Thanksgiving day I hosted "Sounds of America" on WOMR. On this coming Friday, Nov 30, from 5P-7P,
I will be hosting Lady Di's "Legs Up....and Dancing"...an great WOMR oldies show! But keep in mind....if you are
looking to see MY legs up....it's RADIO....you'll never know!
And next week...the irrepressible...and remarkable informative VP of A&R at UMe...and our dear friend in Motown...Harry Weinger will be joining me for the premiere broadcast release of the new "Mary Wells "Something New...the Lost and Found Collection"...and to talk about the cd set!

So do join me for all this and more...tonight...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 Fm Provincetown amd WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and we are streaming live worldwide at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org/)
Thanks!
John

Perhaps Disco-Tex [[Monti Rock III) and the Sex-O-Lettes said it best: "My chiffon is wet, dahling."

And that can only mean one thing: If it's Tuesday, it ain't Belgium--It's NIGHTFLIGHT. Friday or no Friday, it's Tuesday and my legs are up! Or they're gonna be. The lotus position will just have to wait. NIGHTFLIGHT is about to board. But I'm never bored listening to NIGHTFLIGHT. It's the show of shows. It's the host of hosts. It's the legs of legs. And tonight, it's the demos and alternate takes of, well, demos and alternate takes. [[Do you mean like Democrats and Republicans? Whadda I know.)

Hi John!

You are quickly becoming WOMR's guy Friday when they need a fill in host. You always have a leg up on the competition so I can see why they thought you were the perfect host. Of course, If I could get my legs up like this I'm not sure I'd ever close them......

It's definitely an alternate version John. Done slower than the released version. But I don't think I have it! Actually it sounds to me like it was record years after the original.

Technically it would probably be called a remake, but this version of "Both Sides Now" is beautiful and better than her original. Better than Judy Collin's hit version - and I love me some Judy Collins!

The Joni Mitchell selection is interesting.
But what's she doing doing Julie London
by way of Mary Wilson?

What's Carole King doing doing Annette Funicello?
Demo or no demo, very strange-sounding recording.
But, as the expression goes, interesting.
Not "Artie Johnson very interesting" perhaps but interesting
yet and still.

Glenpwood

This alternate of Livin In Shame has a very MOR laid back Muzak vibe to it. Rather than sounding ashamed Diana sounds indifferent about poor pot eating jam making mama....

John, YOU never have to be ashamed.
I will be ashamed for you.
Please note: The song title was originally
I'M LIVIN' ASHAMED.
Perhaps.

P.S. Great Chantels take.

JUST TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.
That is perfection.
John, you now never have anything to be ashamed of.
Until tomorrow.

Get a direct line to heaven, poor Howie died in the late eighties from Aids Complications. The Captain and Tennille who had most of their hits from Sedaka/Greenfield covers when not covering Shop Around did a great tribute song to him and his partner in the 90's called Love Survives.
