As good as she and her peers were, you'd be hard pressed to get the current fans of Rihanna
and her ilk to appreciate what music was like before flash,hype and titiliation became the
primary selling points of any artist. Yea, we had sexy back then but where it existed it was
only part of the package not the total concept. I'm so glad that I grew up when I did , with
what I did because and lot of what people call awesome either disgusts me or leaves me
cold...Just had to say that...

I could not agree with you more. But also during the era we grew up in, we had singers who knew how to "sing", singers who know how to "emote" and singers who were"stylist."
Some of them did not have the greatest voices in the world, but they knew just what to do with thier voice to get the most and the best out of a song. But as always, this is just "One man's opinion."
