Pre-Thriller Jacksons ... very good

I really liked the just-before-Off the Wall/Thriller Jacksons, kind of hitting their peak before MJ went solo completely [[don't blame him).

Love "The Jacksons" and "Destiny" albums, just tremendous stuff. Especially this one:

I can dig those two albums, but "Triumph" has always left me quite cold. The overall mix on that record leaves a lot to be desired.

I really only like "Destiny".

"Triumph" isn't bad [[It came out after "Off The Wall"), but it leaves me cold. It's the cold production values and the mix that ruin it for me. I just can't feel it.

Where is the bass in that record? Triumph is all treble and damn near no bass. And the songs on that album are not fully defined like the first Jacksons album for Epic/Philly Intl.. I can probably say the same thing about Destiny, but the thump in the overall mix added definition to album overall.
