Reading an article when the Four Tops played The Saville Theatre 13 Nov 1966. A one night only 2 performance concert, attended by John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Donovan, Jane Asher [[no Macca), Eric Burden and Georgie Fame. This was the opening night under Brian Epstien's management of the theatre.
The Four Tops included 3 renditions of "non-Motown" songs Michelle, Its Not Unusual and If I Had A Hammer. Also included was Baby, I Need Your Loving and 2 performances of Reach Out, I'll Be There. They left the audience clapping, singing, very happy, but craving more.
They were backed by The Bob Miller Pop Band, with Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers, and The Easy Beats also on the bill.
Did anyone attend this concert it seems fantastic!!
