Robert Plant calls a reporter a 'schmuck'

Led Zeppelin sick of questions about reunion

October 9, 2012

Robert Plant called a reporter a 'schmuck' today at a press conference held to promote the band's Celebration Day DVD, a live video of Led Zeppelin's 2007 reunion concert at London's O2 Arena.

Rolling Stone reports that the conference at New York's Museum of Modern Art took a turn into uncomfortable territory when an Associated Press reporter asked if the movie might be the beginning of 'something bigger' from the classic rock band.

Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, son of late drummer John Bonham, were reportedly silent until Plant said, 'I mean, we've been thinking about all sorts of things. And then we can't remember what we were thinking of. Schmuck.'

The band is clearly tired of questions about more gigs or projects, as that's obviously what most media folks want to talk about.

Plant also gave a warning to other journalists, saying, 'If we're capable of doing something, in our own time, that will be what will happen. So any inane questions from people who are from syndicated outlets, you should just really think about what it takes to answer a question like that in one second. We know what we've got, you know.'

Celebration Day documents the December 10, 2007 gig which was held in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. The film will be released in global theatres on October 17 and will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19.
