I performed a search on the forum, and this video does not appear to be posted before. If it is new to you, it features Smith Connection and Michael Lovesmith as lead singer!

Thanks for posting this. Great group, great song, and I love the album from which it was taken, Under My Wings. It has a great version of a Motown classic, My World Is Empty Without You

Wow...never knew this existed. At the time there was no "videos" so to speak in the 70's. This album was known mostly by word of mouth at the time, an "underground" grind um up release. It was in the realm of the Delphonic's, Moments sound and pre Blue Magic /Ace Spectrum era of sophisiticated soul. This is one of the important projects in the development of 70's soul/R&B. A must have missing link , originally released on the MUSIC MERCHANT label. Thanks for posting. If you don't have this LP in your collection then you aint a collector of geniuine Soul music.

I guess I never knew it existed either. I watched the video three times and saved it. I used to watch Soul Train every Saturday in the seventies, but don't remember them on it. The album is a hidden treasure, although it was kind of popular on the east coast, but people had to be turned on to it. By word of mouth, or simply by listening to it. There were no listening stations then, but our local shop played the entire album on the outside speaker all day long.

Another great cut on the LP was Til There Was You. And here is there version of MY WORLD IS EMPTY WITHOUT YOU

The only radio that this was on was on in N.Y.C. was college radio from Fordham University and of course the Chief Rocker Frankie Crocker on WBLS.

What happened to the scheduled reissue of the album by Smith Connection? It was listed on Dusty Groove, but is now labelled as "delayed."

This was a surprise. A splendid example of sweet soul done in Detroit. These guys could really chirp. I don't know how they missed the big time. Undr My Wing shows the Detroit musicians were some of the best and most versatile in the world. It sounds like it was recorded in Philly or New York.
