I listen a lot to Pandora and when they play a song, they generally post the first few lines of the lyrics. But sometimes they are not "quite" printed as they sound in the song. For example, just a few minutes ago, they played the Marvelettes' "You're the One" and the lyrics were printed on screen as follows:

A Closet Full of Glad Rags
All Tucked Away in a Bed That's Swank


Thought you guys might get a charge out of that one!

Actually for a song that was not that big a hit, it is pretty well-written and tells a pretty good story. Smokey at his best.

I assume we would all admit if we were honest that some of Motown's bigger hits did have some rather odd lyrics. For example:

"You're shiftless and you're lazy, just like that hound dog Daisy."

or:

"Mama's cooking bread...she wore a dirty raggedy scarf around her head."
