I watched an episode of the BBC cop drama Inspector George Gently tonight. Set in 1968, the story featured a girl being murdered after a Northern soul club night out. A bit grim. But what did make me smile was when the cops searched the dead girls bedroom, one of the cops picked up a single from her record collection and it was Frank Wilson's 'Do I love you'. I thought that was a great touch. Someone on the production team knows their Northern soul! That scene would mean nothing to the casual viewer.

Only problem with the show is that it was set in 1968 and this wasn't "discovered" until the 1970's .. and what were they doing playing Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On"!

Yes I agree booty they screwed up playing Marvin Gaye - but I like to think they knew the impossibility of the Frank Wilson single being in a northern girls record collection. In 1968 or anytime.

...though if she had access to records like that, it could explain why she had so much money!!!
