Martha is such a beautiful and classy lady. She own the title The First Lady of Motown because that is what she is. I love this lady.

Thank you for posting this gem.

God bless you Martha.

More than anyone else I can think of, Martha continually celebrates her former label and home town, and this clip surely demonstrates that. While many might fault her for what they perceive as ego and/or self-absorption because they feel she downplays the contributions of the various Vandellas, she rarely fails to give credit where it's due. I especially enjoyed the segment where she sings over her original vocal on Dancing. A close listen will reveal how very radically her style has evolved over the years. Some prefer her gutsier, sharper-edged old style while others prefer the vocal gymnastics she employs now. [[I've never had a preference.) I would venture to say that, of all the Hitsville gals, Martha was, and is, her own woman, but she almost always acknowledges those who helped her to become that.

All I can say is: I've seen several interviews and read several stories [[including her own "Confessions") and Martha certainly has softened over the years. She hasn't always been sunshine and lollipops and rainbows when it comes to talking Motown and it's stars.
