I've decided to join the ranks of the retired! Hopefully I'll now be able to check in to Soulful Detroit more often & perhaps post more often. I'll have MUCH more spare time! YAY! Enjoy your day - I know I will! God is good!!!

Add my dad to the list. He's retired from journalism after 25 years.

Kamasu, where is your dad? Is he posting under another name?

I left university in July 1974 and took up accountancy. In October 2012, I shall be handing in my calculator!!! LOL

The 'Handing In Of Your Calculator' ceremony will represent the sum total of your career, won't it:)

As the years go by, I increasingly find that calculators - like mirrors - can be very unreliable.

Me, I preferred the abacus. I could always count on it.....

Roger - I still know how to use log tables!! My dad used a slide rule and he once taught me how to use it also how to find the square root of a number which I found absolutely fascinating!

Ralph - I still remember when you posted that you had reached 60. That wasn't THAT long ago!

And that scares me, John. It does seem like yesterday that I hit 60, and now I'm 70. Lawd, gimme shelter....

He is chilling, enjoying his grandkids and the leisurely life, Nosey. He doesn't post on the forum since the switch in 2010. I don't think he ever got his password fogured out.

Ralph you are one of the most attractive 70 year old men I have ever seen Ralph.

You certainly have the fountain of youth on your side my dear man.

Yours, with every good wish.

Roberta

Snap! I reach retirement age in October as well, having spent the whole of my working life in accountancy, though I haven't worked since I broke my hip a couple of years ago.
