Yes, Luke--it sure is. With the internet making access to information so much easier, it's still interesting when "tribute acts" promote themselves singing songs not sung by the act being given tribute. Why do people always think "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is a Supremes song...? These ladies have a nice sound, but they couldn't find another Supremes song out of all the Supremes' singles, album cuts, and even previously unreleased material to incorporate into their "tribute act"? *SMDH*

Well when you listen to the record, the background vocals are so very turned up, it is easy to assume that it is a Supremes record. There are a few videos listing this song as by "Diana Ross & The Supremes".

Reach Out and Touch, I always definitely thought that the Supremes were doing the background on that one. One voice sounds very much like Mary Wilson.

Yeah! Many of Diana's solos sounded more like a group than a solo and many of the Supremes records were mixed in such a way, that they sounded like Diana solos.

Back on topic, the tribute act sounded pretty good. And they do other groups too like the Three Degrees
Love Supremes performing live.

Specialising in the legendary Soul and Motown Classics such as Diana Ross & The Supremes and the Three Degrees, the girls have both the versatility and skill to successfully enthral their audience with their superb vocal harmonies, choreographed dance routines and stunning costumes. Love Supreme cover all the major hits including "Stop in the Name of Love", "Baby Love", "Where Did our Love go", "Come see about me", "Love Child", "When Will I See You Again", "Can't Hurry Love" and many more.

This very popular act is suitable for all types of audiences from Theatre, Corporate, Cabaret, Outdoor Festivals and Events. You are guaranteed an exhilarating evening of sophistication and sheer entertainment.

But if they are going to call themselves Love Supreme and bill themselves as a Supreme tribute act, then they should have sung a Supremes song and not a Diana song. To some of us, there is a difference. Now, get someone to tell that to the writers of Designing Woman ;)

It's always difficult to go solo from a group and when you are leaving a group as popular as the Supremes were it is extremely difficult. Diana Ross never was quite able to jump that hurdle. People still saw her as a member of the Supremes, the lead singer. I guess that is why she has finally caved in and now does full versions of Supremes songs in her shows.

A friend of mine told me some years ago that after she sang her medley of Supremes hits, half of the audience walked out because that was all they wanted to hear.

WOW !!!! In what state did that happen? I've seen her on both coasts about thirty times and never saw half or even one audience member leave after her Supremes medley. That almost sounds unbelievable as her shows are a love fest

It happened right here on Long Island New York in July 1995 at Jones Beach! LOL! These are the same people that got the Return to Love Tour cancelled out here. Yep, he said that as soon as her 3-5 min. Supremes Greatest Hits medley was over, everyone started heading towards the exits and there was still a good 45 mins left in the show LOL!
