Howdy there! Tonight...and next week...I have something for you that is more than Motown...or Philly...or Disco....or those 12 inches [[because I KNOW how you enjoy those 12 inches). It's a combination of all of those things...and it comes in the form of what was and is called "...a Tom Moulton Mix..." Tom Moulton is seen as being responsible for originating the 12 inch disco symphonies that we spent hours dancing to in the Seventies, and for creating the "breakdown" that occured in those amazingly endless dance tracks that allowed us to become mesmerized by this fusion of R&B, Soul Music and Big Band.
Tom was and is a pioneer...as he continues to remix and reconstruct some of our favorite music from that era. So join me tonight...and next week...for a tribute to Tom Moulton and his brand "...a Tom Moulton Mix..."! ...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org/)
And keep in mind...Harry Weinger will join me in 2 weeks with "surprises"! Sorry...that's all Harry would tell me [[*smile)!
Thanks!
John
PS....I was in contact with Tom Moulton a few days ago...and he generously agreed to be on the show. However, I haven't heard from him since. But I will keep you informed of any updates about his joining me. Thanks!

Thomas Jerome Moulton has had quite the career. Initially a model for the Bookings and Ford Agencies he then went on to work in promotiom for King, RCA and United Artists records but left because he became disenchanted with corruption in promotion. He later winds up in Fire Island at the Sandpiper Club with his own mixed tapes. And the rest of course is history. Tom became the originator of the remix, the breakdown section, and the 12-inch single vinyl format! Quite a guy.

When asked in an interview "Who is Tom Moulton?" He replied "Tom Moulton is a guy who loves music. I don't know how else to explain it - music has been my whole life. I mean, I get such pleasure and joy out of taking something and trying bring it to another level or a level that I feel that other people can enjoy. I've always done that, I've always felt like that."

Sounds just like you John. You two should have a lot to talk about. Looking forward to the music and the interview. See you on the radio. JOsEph

I think one of the best things about this set is that there are different era remixes, next to one another. It works very well.
