Howdy there, Buckaroos! Hope your long, hot summer is just that...in a GOOD way!
As you saw on the show title...a bit of a sort of a change in plans. I was going to play some of most everything that have been played on "Nightflight" over the years.
But, as you also may know, last week I was joined ...and will be once more tonight, by Justine for "Nightflight's" final pledge drive installment for the summer. Justine has been such fun. Last week she mentioned, as she was dancing to one of the songs I played, that she loved to dance. So I said to myself..."...dance....dance.....DANCE!!!" So Dance it will be!
What that means is...I'll be playing for you songs that were connected to some of the great dance fads of the 50s, 60's and 70's...as well as a number of songs of which the subject is DANCE. Many you may know...some are new finds of old chestnuts...and some are even rare and alternate versions...and a couple of remixes too.
So...do join me...and Justine...for 3 hours of the only music that will make you dance.
That's tonight...on "Nightflight"..on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org
Thanks!
John...and Justine!

Although the Rodgers & Hart tracks were recorded in Oct & Nov, 1966, Diana Ross returned to the studio to touch up her vocals to 'Dancing On The Ceiling' in January 1967.

I've reads that Mary Wells 20th Century Fox recordings [[including the Love Songs To The Beatles album) are to be re-issued later this year [[October) on Soul Music Records. Perhaps Hip-O-Select will release her Motown tracks around the same time or at least by Christmas.
