FUNDRAISING BEGINS FOR "FUNK BROTHERS" HOLLYWOOD STAR

Motown's Unsung Heroes, The Funk Brothers Band, arranged and played on more #1 hit songs than any other band in history!

Hollywood- Recently selected to receive their long awaited Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Motown's LEGENDARY " Funk Brothers" band are now seeking donations to help fund the $25,000 necessary to place and maintain the coveted Hollywood Star.

Those wishing to help raise funds for The Funk Brothers Hollywood Star Fund, checks and money orders can be made out to the FUNK BROTHERS HOLLYWOOD STAR FUND, and mailed to:

Between the late 1950's and the 1970's, The Funk Brothers band was the heartbeat on nearly every major hit record from Motown's Detroit era. This unsung group of musicians arranged and played on more #1 hit songs than any other band in history; more than the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles combined. That makes them the greatest musical hit machine--and the greatest rhythm section--and the most creative musical force--in the history of popular music. The Funk Brothers created that unmistakable sound that launched a thousand hits.

And in November, 2009, after The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce received a 13 page nomination from a fan, they were selected to receive their long-awaited and long-deserved Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Thanks to those who have contacted Jeanne and myself for further information. Just to clarify, contributions large and small are encouraged for those wishing to participate. For larger amounts, pledges, to be collected at the time of the actual funding are acceptable. Those who have been sending in more personal donations, all funds are deposited in a Chase account and will be fully accounted for, with any unused funds returned to donors. Any and all funds will be used specifically for the Funk Brothers Hollywood Star on the Walk Of Fame award. We have personally assumed all costs relating to the accounting and administrating of the project with 100% of all monies raised going to the Walk Of Fame festivities.
