Hi R, How are you?

Maybe Undisputed Truth and Edwin Starr were all that was required..........

"I Wanna Get Next To You" has the Temptations written all over it.

Listen to it; it even sounds like the Tempts.

"I'm Going Down" - maybe, Mary Wilson, although 90% sure if given to her, that song would be exponentially less remembered than it still is today, due to underpromotion, because Motown never even gave her a scrap of support as her own singer in her own right. But to me, Ms. Wilson is.

Wishing on a Star could have worked for the Supremes.

this is a clever question !
for some reason I think I'd have enjoyed hearing Gladys Knight do I WANNA GET NEXT TO YOU, if she'd likewise remained with Motown of course.

about 1974/5 i saw edwin starr [[california ballrooms, dunstable)his backing band was total concept unlimited or the million dollar band,i forget right now, either way this was rose royce before gwen dickie joined.as far as i know it was the complete lineup for rose royce minus female lead.edwin was really singing their praises.i sure he put them on to norman whitfield.so,if whitfeild had stayed at motown i suppose it was possible that the group could have joined motown anyway.whitfield left 73 edwin's last motown lp was hell up in harlem,74 he'd already moved to england 73
