On 2nd July, Spectrum are putting out a double CD called "Motown Floorshakers".
No track listing or art work are being shown yet, let's hope it's a double CD of "Obscure" titles!!!!!!!!

Would these be Motown "Northern Soul" style cuts mainly from the '60s? Or would they be more modern [['70s-'80s)?

Calv1971, somehow when reading your post, I could hear "For The Love Of Mike", by Patrice Holloway. Upon further review, it meets the obscure criteria, but may fall short on the floorshaking meter. We shall see. My dream scenario would be unreleased 4 on the floor numbers with a minimum of 92 beats per minute.

Dunno what's on it but its £5 from HMV. Hope it isn't just a re-hash of those Motown Sound Northern Soul CDs - "For The Love Of Mike" was on the original Volume 2 before they remade it all as one! Was listening to The Velvelettes Motown Anthology recently and two tracks jumped out at me - "A Love So Deep Inside" and "He's The One" - both are brilliant and good enough to grace any Soul Nite I think. Not sure why they've not stood out fo rme before though!!!

Has anyone spent the time to determine exactly how many of these have never before been released?

What is the title of the Gino Parks & Love-tones' track on Disc 2?

It's 'For This I Thank You' :)

Disc 2 makes a pleasant change from the same old soup. Even disc 1 as 3 or 4 'rarities'.

All the classic `59 - `71 tracks have been released. I don`t know or care about the newer cuts.

Robb - hope you've had time to look at the track list - super well known for CD1 and then on CD2 [[in chronological order), rollicking RnB, 6Ts stompers and 7Ts steppers...so fingers crossed, I've covered all bases ;)

Familiar to those on the 'Northern' scene and interesting enough to people who want to delve into Motown a bit further. Both CDs were compiled in the order I would play the tracks in one of my sets.....to keep the dancefloor shakin' ;)

They've all been released in one shape or form previously. On Disc 2, tracks 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 15 are the LEAST used on past compilations. Maybe Reuben Howell and OC Smith haven't been used on any compilations before...so that's your answer :)

If you mean, never had CD release, then OC Smith and Reuben Howell probably but everything else has had previous CD release. Just handy having them all on two CDs though!
