I'm heading to Detroit tomorrow, to work a trade show over the weekend.. Although I'll be there for work, I intend to stop by the Motown Museum on Friday afternoon. Can't wait to finally step foot inside Hitsville USA! Are there any other Motown stops I should make before heading up to Pontiac for my trade shows? Any thoughts on or things to make sure I see at Hitsville?

Thanks,
Thom

Enjoy your time! You will love it. I think you will be surprised how small Hitsville really is, but the experience of just being there is so much larger than life. The gift shop has a nice selection of things, but it's very overpriced. When I was in Detroit, we drove through the neighbourhood with Diana, Mary and Flo's former homes [[Buena Vista). I believe Berry Gordy's old mansion was also in the same area, on the next street over.

If you have time Thom try and eat lunch or dinner at Fishbones on Monroe Street in downtown Detroit. Their seafood gumbo is out of this world and their jambalaya is divine.

Have a nice time in Detroit.

Yours, with every good wish.

Thanks Carlo & Roberta. I can't wait to step inside and feel the echoes of the snake pit around me. Many years ago, I was in Nashville and went to the Sun Studios where Elvis first recorded. Now, I'm not a huge Elvis fan, though I enjoyed his music. Still, there was something about being in that studio that made you feel the history. I am much more connected to Motown's music, and this visit is a long time in coming.

Thom, go down to Greetown [[not the casino) ask anyone or google "Fishbones". Go there and have yourself an excellent meal!
