THIS IS AN UPDATE ON BOB FROM HIS WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR.

We want to update you about Bob. As you have seen, the website discussion activity has been somewhat dormant. This is due to the fact that Bob has been ill with a brain tumor. He was diagnosed over a year ago and has been doing pretty good. However, he is presently in the hospital with related complications. We all wish him our thoughts and prayers at this time. We will keep you informed.

In the meantime, we would like you to participate in a new discussion about Bob by giving examples of how Bob has affected your life or your family.

thank you for keeping us informed, Ray. He will be in my prayers.

I saw Bob when he appeared onstage on American Idol last season with James Durbin doing "living for the city". There are a couple of cute shots of Bob in this clip, and kudows for him.

I'm keeping Bob in my thoughts. His playing ,especially on those Temptations records was so much a part of my own
growing up. His appearance in the Standing In The Shadows Of Motown dvd, which I own, was a real treat too.
Thanks for the update, Ray...

I'm sure he knows we're rooting for him. He's one unique individual and a hero to all of us.

So sorry to hear about Bob's illness. Thanks so much for letting us know how he's doing, Ray.

Shoot, Babbitt is the reason I landed on SDF in the first place. I asked him a question [[I don't even remember what was now) and Bob emailed me back with the suggestion that I try my question here. He did warn me that people here might be a bit opinionated. For the life of me, I don't understand what he was talking about:cool:

My prayers go out to Bob and hope for a speedy recovery!

I'm going to listen to "Scorpio" now where Bob gives one of the best funkiest bass performances!

My prayers go out to Bob and his family.
I was just listening to Black Ivory's ,"Mainline". After all these years I never knew it was him on bass. He is credited on the cover as just "Babitt".

Hi Ray. I am sorry to hear that Bob is back in the hospital. I spoke with him a while ago. His bass solo on Scorpio was probably the best funk bass solo of all time. I told him that I mention him in my recent interviews. Tell him he is in our prayers.
