Hi,

I am a researcher at the University of Glamorgan and I am currently looking at the social identity of music fans. I am absolutely desperate to include some Soul fans in our study and I was hoping that you could spare 5 minutes and do a quick survey. All you need to do is click on the link below and you will be able to start the survey.

Thank you very much!

Well ..

I've just filled in the survey.

Rather painless really, I wonder what they will make of the answers as I get the impression it was largely aimed at 15-25 year olds, and I've not been in that demographic in decades.

:)

I've completed it too....and yes, I know that feeling...

Have asked uniglam to let us know the results. Could be interesting....:)

Just filled it in...Roger, I agree it looks like it's aimed at kids judging by the questions, at 61 I couldn't give a toss about peer presure [not the I ever did]...I found the question about whether or not you would drop the music if it was un-cool to like it amusing, I always thought that it was un-cool not to like Soul music.

Well I'm under 25 so maybe I am the demographic you are trying to reach. I filled it in but I must say I don't experience this type of peer pressure or prejudice about music genres. But hopefully my feedback helps what you're trying to do. :)

I took your survey but I am not sure any of my responses will help you. I also could not answer some of the questions.

The survey assumes that the participant has a favorite type of music over any others. I like music from all genres and cannot be a fan of just one. I also think you should have added a question of collecting memorabilia, which I think is more common than dressing like a fan/fan of an artist.

Being a fan is about the music first, not dressing like the artist.

Anyway, good luck.
