Hello, ngroove here. Nicholas C Jesson's the name, Bit over a dozen-year Motown listener-nut since reaching adolescence, when songs like "My Girl" and "How Sweet It Is" finally made sense. To get aquainted with you folks here, how about a good ol' fashioned learning of our musical tastes?

At the moment:

10. Marvin Gaye - I Want You
9. Switch - Love Over and Over Again
8. Junior Walker & the All-Stars - What Does It Take [[To Win Your Love)
7. Syreeta - Spinnin' and Spinnin'
6. Monitors - Say You
5. Michael Jackson - With A Child's Heart
4. Supremes - Touch
3. Lionel Richie - Love Will Conquer All
2. Fantastic Four - Feel Like I'm Fallin' In Love Again
1. Smokey Robinson - I've Made Love To You A Thousand Times

Ngroove what a great position to be in, discovering this music with one thing leading to another, and another.........My Top 10 in descending order would be the following;
#10 It's The Same Old Song-4 Tops
#9 The Girls Alright With Me-Temptations
#8 This Old Heart Of Mine- Isley Brothers
#7 I Hear A Symphony- Supremes
#6 Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye + Tammi Terrell,
#5 The Stranger - Tammi Terrell[[Previous Unreleased)
#4 Trapped - Brenda Holloway[[Previously Unreleased)
#3 Let Love Live - Velvelettes[[Previously Unreleased)
#2 First I look At The Purse - Contours.
#1 It's A Good Feeling - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

As you can see all are from the "Classic Period", and 1 was a B-Side, and 3 were not deemed ready for commercial consumption at the time they were produced, HDH wrote 4 of the songs, Smokey wrote 2, and my favorite writers Ashford and Simpson wrote 2.

Aw nuts – almost forgotten about the Originals – now they were gentlemanly true romantics from the classy soul class as the Dells,Chi-Lites, Stylistics, Bloodstone, and the Manhattans.

4. "The Tracks of My Tears"-Miracles
5. "I'll Always Love You"-Spinners

8. "This Old Heart of Mine [[Is Weak For You)"-Isley Brothers
9. "Crying In the Night"-Monitors

Second "Top 10"-all just as good:

Motown has made over 100 perfect recordings, to my taste. I have different favourites to choose from each day, based on my mood. And the quality doesn't drop one iota.

I tried that once and it's not at all easier.

True, true, when there are probably thousands of offerings.

Myself, I love just about almost everything; well, although Marvin Gaye-wise, I've found myself preferring to listen to his "One More Heartache", "You" and "Chained" over his "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "What's Going On" and "Let's Get It On", and Smokey Robinson, absolutely love his "Being With You", but "Cruisin" bores me too much to figure out how that became as big as it was.
