Anyone following this story. Old Rush crossed the line , which is nothing new with this jerk, and Ms.Fluke, who I find to be intelligent and articulate relative to the health care of women, may be the catalyst to finally bring this windbag down.

Just imagine what Rush would do if someone dared to call him a drug addict. From where I sit he is on the other side of the line and did not have to cross it to slander.

I find it interesting how people gave Rush a pass on all the racist things he's said, but it took a nasty slur against a woman to hurt him.

I understand, Soul. But I think this one goes a little deeper. It transcends race and envelops all women, regardless of race. Good old Rush tore himself a good one this time.

Yes I have been following it. I think old Rush has gotten himself in a real spot, a real jam this time! One of his sponsors pulled the plug today on advertisements. I am expecting others to follow suit shortly. Where does he get off? I mean really?

The media seems to be missing the point that her testimony had nothing to so with her sex life or how many times she has sex...but the focus on an a-hole comment, coming from a a-hole shock jock is more important than the facts.

In other news, a federal judge in Montana sent out a racist email about the President's mother....

Conservatism in 2012... the gifts that keeps on giving!

They miss the point because they choose to miss it. If she has sex once a month, it's in her interest to be on the pill if she doesn't want to get pregnant. Only a pervert of the lowest order would conflate her statement with her desire to have sex continually. This reflects not only the GOP [[who's politicians refuse to condemn the remark and rebuke Limbaugh) but also the low-minded people who tune in to listen to him.

...but her testimony had NOTHING to do with HER sex life....or anyone's sex life for that matter. Contrary to the belief of some ignorant males, [[see Limbaugh) women don't pop the "pill" simply to have sex...it's not Viagra for goodness sake and there are other reasons for going on the pill than the prevention of pregnancy.

IMO....if people are going to discus this story they should discuss the facts of her testimony not the controversy the media is pushing. What's the point? Limbaugh and his ilk say a-hole things....what else is new?

I predict that this will blow over in a week.

Interesting commentary on Rachael Maddow tonight. She suggested that Limbaugh and people like Rick Santorum may not even understand how birth control works and backed up her claim with footage of both men talking about it. I would not be surprised if she's right about it.

As of this writing, four have pulled out, and others are "thinking" about it. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/rush-limbaugh-loses-sponsors-sandra-fluke-select-comfort-sleep-train-296567

That is very good news. Strictly from a marketing perspective, advertisers should do well with women customers by simply backing their cause. I hope they all pull out.

Of course, you're right. But if the Grand Ol' Perverts wanted to hear about this "issue" from a woman's perspective, they would have let her testify before the "legitimate" panel.

Which is the real issue as far as I'm concerned. This isn't about religion ,contraceptives or ideological beliefs....it's about wanting to control and dictate the rights of women. That's what makes me so angry about all this. Personally [[and I'm speaking for me only) I don't need men running to my rescue to demand an apology or denounce some ignorant remark. I need them to stand up for my rights....as well as the rights of others. THAT'S the real issue, everything and anything else, is nothing but a distraction.... the media, politicians and surrogates keep pulling this crap and the masses keep falling for it.

You're reading too deeply into what has occurred here. The Republicans thought that they had a wedge issue: Obama waging a war against religion. They didn't realize that the insurance companies would PREFER to pay for contraception than pregnancy and well baby care, so when the compromise came up, they were left looking stupid. They picked the wrong issue and couldn't frame it in a way that made sense to 90% of reasonable Americans, so now they have to play it all the way out. There is no winning angle for them, so this dirtbag is trying to reshape the public's perception of what is going on by making it about sex instead of women's health or political jousting. It just tells you what's on his mind when he's tweaking Oxycontin and illegally obtained Viagra [[probably both paid for by his insurance play, BTW).

True, it is 100% about women's health as far as the stakes are concerned, but it is really just a political talking point for them. It has nothing to do with religion and if they were other than sheep, they'd tell you that on a personal level, their stance makes no sense.

Jerry I understand very well what this is all about and I also realize this is politics but at the end of the day, this is about the rights of women, plan and simple.

My point is a simple one, people are all up in arms over some ignorant remark but they are NOT showing the same passion for protecting the rights of women and all the other minorities whose rights are on the chopping block....there's nothing deep to read into this....it's obvious and it's old!!!!!

...and for the record.....to the Republicans, their stance makes perfect sense. Since they were losing the war on the issue of the economy, they need to turn to social issues to stir their base [[and others as well)...in many circles it's working but I do agree, this will backfire on them but make no mistake, they know why they do, what they do...and many know their logic is flawed but they also realize, they are dealing with an electorate who by pass logic for emotion.

Divide and conquer Jerry...it's as old as the hills and the electorate on both sides of the fence continue to feed into it.

All they need is to find a female version of Willie Horton: A black, female, welfare recipient who has nine kids and mugs affluent white Catholic parishioners in the church parking lot after mass. Oh, by the way - she is a registered Democrat with a "Yes We Can" bumper sticker on the back of a stolen Lexus that she bought from a convicted felon by trading in her food stamps for cash!

We'll see. The best person that they had for faking news and sensationalizing it died yesterday and they're scrambling trying to suggest that President Obama got him with his ninjas. You know how they can make it look like a spasmodic, hell raising, mentally disturbed, constantly over the edge, likely drug abusing, aneurism-waiting-to-happen picture of health like Andrew Breitbart fall over from apparently natural causes. That Obama is a slick one, I'll tell ya'.

But, that's what they have Sean Hannity for, to make up new lies. Then Sarah Palin can find an opportunity to tell the gun nuts to lock n' load, and sherriff Arpaio and the Donald can team up with Orily Taiz and Ted Nugent in Phoenix for a tea-bagger rally.
