It says on Youtube, where this was just posted, that it is part of what is in the can from Lady Sings the Blues.

Don't expect it to stay there for long.

It's not on LSTB or Blue - there is so much unreleased work from her. On the Diana 76 Hippo release the booklet talks about here recording Stevie songs, but they are in his vault. Hopefully one day.....

Nice matching. Sounds like a rehearsal. Diane certainly must have done a lot of singing-along-with-Billie while preparing for the role and I imagine this is what that must have sounded like.

one of the Stevie songs came out years ago on a cassette called "Reach Out" it was a frantic version of "For Once In My Life'..the trouble with some of the unreleased work from this period is that some of it was recorded in her studio at home and according to legend Gordy didnt think any of it was up to release standard apparently the acoustics in her home studio were not up to much...
