I always thought that the 12" version of "All Night Long [[All Night)" was the version available on the lp [6:22]. So what is the vocal 6:40 version on the "Can't Slow Down" Deluxe edition? An alternate version? A later vocal version mixed on the original instrumental? Anybody knows something about it?
Thanks in advance.

The main difference between the two is really in the ending of the song. The 12 inch has more feel goods and all nights sung by Lionel over the extended fade out. The alternate adlibs and instrumentation are interesting but ultimately the LP version was the wiser choice.

OK, thank you.
I don't know why they call it "12" version" because it wasn't the 12" single version actually.

It's just an extended version.

The 12" master tape has those extra 20 seconds. Rather than fade, to match the 12"/the already included LP version, we let it ride in the final construction of the deluxe edition.
