MICHAEL JACKSON, WHAT HAPPENED?

Wednesday September 1 & Saturday September 4 at 10 pm ET/PT and Sunday September 5 at 8 pm ET on CBC News Network

Two years ago, Michael Jackson was acquitted on charges of child molestation, but instead of returning to his home in Neverland, he disappeared, wandering the globe for two years. Writer and self-proclaimed lifelong Jackson fan Jacques Peretti wanted to find out why. What drove Michael Jackson, once crowned the 'King of Pop' to such spectacular self-destruction?

From the alleged cruelty that Jackson suffered at the hand of his father to the rumours that whirled around the mystique of 'Wacko Jacko', Jacques finds that all is not as it seemed in the fairytale world inhabited by Jackson.

Peretti's journey starts in Las Vegas, where he finds a Jackson memorabilia auction in the back room of a casino. Previously valued in excess of $5 million, today over 2000 lots are provoking little interest. Determined to find out how the Jackson story has come to this, Jacques tracks down the people who were closest to Jackson, and who talk frankly about the darkest moments in his life

As Jackson's manager for nearly two decades, Bob Jones saw everything first hand. In his first interview on camera Bob explains how he worked to build Jackson's legacy, including devising the King of Pop moniker, through to Jackson's darker days, when he saw his boss's behaviour drawing increasingly adverse attention: "When you see something going wrong, you can tell the person, you shouldn't do that."

Probing into Jackson's past, Peretti meets one of the music supremo's oldest friends, Randy Taraborrelli, who explodes the myth that Jackson was beaten by his father. And it doesn't stop there, as Randy claims 'Wacko Jacko' was a construction - "a bizarre character for the media's consumption."

As Peretti moves through the Jackson story he meets Victor Guttierez, the investigative reporter who first uncovered allegations of child abuse, and Di Dimond, who broke the first allegations of child abuse and pursued every lead for the next ten years. In his first interview, Guttierez recalls how the allegations unfolded and both he and Dimond present a dark and complex story - this programme tells the story of Michael Jackson in a way never seen before.

What is the CBC network? I'd like to watch this but don't think we get it here.
Bob Jones is dead I believe, and D. Dimond I do believe was on a witchhunt. Just my opinion. Has anyone read "Conspiracy", by Aphrodite Jones? Interesting reading about MJ.' trial.

Karralyn, the CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Company. Depending on where you are located in the States, you may or may receive it's broadcasts. They a great channel with selected programing on Youtube. Try there.

Bob Jones passed away several years ago and that other guy rarely knows what he is talking about.
