Ok... I just disocvered this guy for the first time last week, and LOVE his stuff, but listneing to his voice, he sounds a HELL of alot like somebody else who had some hits in the 60's or 70's, and I can't put my finger on who it is he sounds like! Incidentally, this guy wrote Maxine Nightingale's "Right Back Where We Started From" as well. So, any clues as to who i'm thinking of?

He sounds VERY much like German Pop singer, Udo Jurgens to me.

You think so? Udo seems much lower and smoother to me. I know who i'm thinking of is either american or british.

Here's another one of his songs... this one is my favorite, written by Jimmy Webb:

Jill, as soon as I heard the first notes of that first song you posted, I was like "I've heard that voice before"! Then after a few minutes I remember where. It came out of Udo Jurgens mouth! LOL!!! Both are good singers.

His voice has a tone like an exact cross between the leads of Spiral Staircase [[too high) and Chicago [[too low).

Holy mother of CRAP... it finally dawned on me who I was reaching for. I KNEW it was someone obvious that he reminded me of... JOHNNY MAESTRO!
