One that comes to mind [[and a sizable UK hit) is ..

EDDIE DRENNON - "Lets Do The Latin Hustle" ..

It would proably have gone Top 10 but there was also another version of the tune in the charts by the M & O Band at the time which was so similar to the EDDIE DRENNON version that there was a court case and the M & O Band were sued for plagiarism.

I don't know of this was a hit in the UK but my thinking is it might be Soul Makossa by Manu Dibango http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2jYjUiulMQ

I think it might be "Prisencolinensinainciusol" by Adriano Celentano [[1972).

Classic track. I only recently found out that the lyrics are actually pure gibberish, which explains why I could never figure out the words; nor the language. One thing I did manage to work out was that it wasn't Italian.

The B-side is also interesting, being almost a completely different song based around the same groove.

Both sides are great!

[[Adriano Celentano was also one of Ian Dury's reasons to be cheerful.)

You can find the track on YouTube here: -

There are also several threads that talk about it on another [[less soulful) forum. Here's one.

it reminds me of other songs.a cross between lennons "give peace a chance" and johnny kongos "he's gonna step on you again" and the horn arrangement sound familiar aswell
