I sure do! Vinyl does sound better than mp3. But, CD can sound better than vinyl because of the mastering. But, hi-rez sounds better than all the rest, and that's what Neil young is about today.

I don't know if that was me4ant to be a compliment or sarcasm, but the reason vinyl sounds better than any lossy file type is because the vinyl sound has more depth, space between instruments. All anyone needs to do is listen.

Hi soulster, definitely nothing other than a genuine compliment. I remain very grateful to you for the excellent advice and guidance you gave me when I first joined the forum and asked for help on vinyl to digital recording. You explained to me then all about the various types of digital files, compression, types of turntable and cartridges and so on. At that point I was digitising into 128kbps with the worse possible outcomes; without your advice I would have continued to do so. cheers Mike
