Wilson’s MAA e-Bay site [[opened Nov 23 2011); closed by eBay Jan 2012 for taking funds but not delivering the goods to winning bidders. The MAA star was -1. [[I'm not sure I have ever seen a negative; or comments as were posted.))
Wilson is NOT an actual Motown alumnus; he is a “fake” as his own alleged association is only through being another “Motown” fan.
Wilson is also not a bonafide spokesperson for most real Motown alumni. Although newspapers such as The Detroit News [[Susan Whitall); Detroit Free Press [[Brian McCollum) have given him credibility by using him as their news “source” in stories they have reported.
Oftentimes Wilson actually lifts Motown news from credible sources and then asserts they are his inside stories by non-attribution to the original news source. His MAA newsletters are incredible as he takes this copyrighted material with every intention of deceiving people into believing he is the “Motown Man”; and not a “Motown Fan”.
Wilson’s MAA fan-based association hurts the original alums as with his fund requests for Thanksgiving turkey dinners that were to be provided to disadvantaged Detroit families and now this defunct eBay site.
Every Motown fan; every Motown alum should be alarmed that the Motown legend is being tarnished by this unscrupulous individual and the cast of characters associated with him.
Personally, I do not know Billy Wilson; nor have I ever been lured into his fabricated Motown groupie fantasies. If Wilson and his MAA fan-based entourage received a “Save-the Date” for the Motown Gala on March 30, I would be surprised.
I’m a Motown fan; not a Motown moron. In my opinion, the MAA is nothing more than a sham organization that takes away from all the achievements of original Motown alums [[and their families); the Motown legend; and the Motown music. However, these are only my observations and my opinions.
Give me a Motown fan-based organization that I would be proud to be associated with and I, and others, would definitely support it.
