I noticed this track included on the The Complete Motown Singles, Volume 5: 1965 [[http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O3EF9Y/ref=dm_sp_alb) set and see others are listed as "promo" versions on the same set - what's the story on them? Are they noticably different?

I am probably the wrong person to ask, since I actually believed that there were Supremes singing on Love Child, but to me there seems to be no difference between the promo version and the mono original release , which is also the the Complete Singles Vol 5. The only difference is that the promo is 2 seconds longer - but it sounds the same

I just listened to all the short 30" snippets of all the CMS's.
"Promo versions" sound different - even in that short span of time. I don't know how exactly, since I dont't own the actual cd's, but that's what my ears are telling me. The promos sound crispier to mee, all of them. It's a diffrent mix, definitely.
Maybe the compilers can shine a light on HOW defferent they are?
