Other than Mike McClain, Stanley Ossman and L.T. Horn, who were the early Motown recording engineers. Prior to 1965, I have no idea who engineered what.

Robert Bateman was the main one after Mike. And Mike started in 1961, and helping to build "The Snakepit". Before that, final recordings were made at Bristoe Bryant's studio [[whose equipment was bought by Motown), and [[mainly) at United Sound Studios. If I remember correctly, before 1961, they just made demos in-house.

There is a book "The Motown Music Machine" by Harold Keith Taylor who was an engineer there from 1964.

I have The Andantes book thanks. Also bought I Remember Motown by Fran Heard at the same time. Few more out there I need to track down. Didnt Lawrence T Horn arrange for his family to be murdered? I seem to remember that from somewhere. Paulo xxx
