There has been a lot of speculation as to why this track was not included as a bonus cut on "Sunny And Warm".

I was going to surprise everyone, but I thought I'd let you know that Reel Music will be doing a SECOND Blinky CD, probably six or seven months after the first one!

I'm not going to reveal the titles of what's on it as I still want to have something to get people excited about, but it's not what you might expect.

However, it does have a 9 minute version of "He's Gone"/"For Your Precious Love" !!!
Beyond that, my lips are sealed!

Paul- How is it that Reel Music lucked up and obtained the rights to release some of Blink's material? Are there any other artists/projects lined up for the near future?

OMG! As Blinky herself sang 'What More Can I Do' but to say a HUGE thanks for all your hard work, for listening to me way back in 2006 & for having faith. It will be a dream come true to have my acetate version of 'He's Gone'/'For Your Precious Love' on CD.:):):)

[[In reply to Ross) I think I have been lucky in that members of SD and MT and others have responded favorably to our releases and seen that we try to go the extra mile in terms of mastering and that 16 or 20 page color booklets are appreciated in these days of MP3 downloads and so on. I've also been lucky in that many of the artists whose product we've had the pleasure to release have been very happy with how they turned out. People like Freda Payne, Edna Wright, Gloria Jones, Chris Clark and Paul Riser have been great ambassadors on our behalf and word gets around. Paul / Reel Music

Ross - We should have another Motown release to announce in the next week or so. Something quite surprising!

*SIGH* Should I just give up waiting? It's been THREE YEARS since this project was first released. Do any of the Universal/Motown gents have any idea if this project will ever be released or know of any updates?

From what I read in previous posts, there was supposed to have been some big announcement. What happened to it? And was there a first Blinky release? Hiw did that slip by me?

The gentleman named Paul who posted on SDF from time to time about Reel Music has long since stopped posting. With respect to him, I imagine there were financial issues.

We can only hope that Ace/Kent takes the Blinky project over.

Which albums by the Originals?

I would welcome most of the Originals albums again on CD - Baby I'm For Real, Portrait Of, Naturally Together, Definitions. Portrait of and Naturally Together rarely become available in the UK and go for exorbitant sums.

In terms of Reel - their releases on Chris Clark [[Soul Sounds), Jimmy Ruffin [[Ruff N ready) and Gloria Jones were great. Were there others that made it out from Motown?

Yvonne Fair - The Bitch is Black is another Motown release from Reel Music.

Thought it might be interesting to revive this thread. Reel Music produced some fine Motown related CDs. This list may not be exhaustive -

The Sisters Love - With Love - 66748-72001-2
Chris Clark - Soul Sounds - 66748-78010-2
Jimmy Ruffin - Ruff N' Ready - 66748-78015-2
Gloria Jones - Share My Love - 66748-78007-2
Yvonne Fair - The Bitch Is Black - 66748-78002-2
Gordon Staples - Strung Out - 66748-78014-2
Bettye Lavette - Tell Me A Lie 66748-78003-2
Chris Clark - Dream or Cry [[7" vinyl) PCS 72014

We know, from this thread, that there were, in fact, 2 Blinky CDs in planning, plus the Ivy Jo Hunter CD. Bit of a departure, though, for the label to be issuing previously vaulted and unreleased albums I think. The CD artwork for those that did see release, remained faithful to the original LPs. All may not yet be lost perhaps.
