1977 Jobete publishing promo-only sampler - 37-tracks - 3LP's - by legendary and unique songwriter- and Motown production team made famous by . Vinyl are presented in custom "Yesterday, Today, & Forever" inner sleeves and double gatefold picture cover.

Hi all, does anyone know much about this album? Is it a Motown recording and/or release? What does 'Jobete Music Company Inc.' mean? And what does it mean by 'sampler'...? :)

It was mainly a promotional record to showcase HDH songs with a view to other labels picking up these Jobete songs for their own artists, and not intended for release to the general public.

For instance, "Take My Everything" ended up on the Margo Michaels and Nitelite's album on Real World Records along with 8 other HDH productions.

Hi Tom, I have this set of albums. The issue was vinyl only and was a platform to showcase the composing abilities of Holland Dozier Holland. The songs are published by Berry Gordy's Jobete publishing house and it was a promotion encouraging other artists on other labeled to also record these tracks. They were a blend of known and unknown tracks and the performing artists were an interesting bunch as you can see from the track list

I think Virginia McDonald was also in Undisputed Truth at one point.

xtown and 144man -- YES! You're both right... Virginia McDonald [[AKA "Vee", AKA "V") was the female singer with The Undisputed Truth from 1974 to 1975. She left The Truth when the group left Motown and went to Whitfield Records, and seemingly recorded a few tracks for this album in the late '70s. She also joined Brian Holland's revamped 8th day group for their 1983 self-titled album on A&M. Then, in 1986, Vee had a solo album out on Atlantic entitled Heavy Traffic Starring V, produced by the Holland Brothers [[and one track by Norman Whitfield).

Here is one of Vee's tracks from this album: "You're What's Missing In My Life" featuring former Undisputed Truth singer [["Poontang") Tyrone "Lil Ty" Barkley as well:
