I don't think I have ever seen any mention to a couple of people who I think were real innovators and provided enormous inspiration to quite a few people. Roy Brown had a beautiful voice, and I hear him in people like Roy Hamilton, Jackie Wilson and possibly Elvis. What Wynonie Harris's voice lacked in beauty, he made up for with pure power. In the sleeve notes to a compliation of his that Charley records put out in the 80s, the writer says 'Wynonie Harris shouted the blues with all of the finesse of an Elephant breaking wind!'

I thought that too, of some of the new Motown female artists in the 90s, like Milira, and LA LA..wherere they now? They personified true SOUL like all the DIVAS that had gone before, but where are they now?..Paulo xxx
