Just bought it today and it's fantastic. Nikki Jean [[whom I hadn't heard of before) travelled across the country stopping to write songs with some of the best songwriters ever known to man. Contributors include Lamont Dozier, Thom Bell, Carole King, Bob Dylan, Jimmie Webb, and Burt Bacharach, among many greats on this album.

The idea -- and the songs -- work.

Bell and Jean's "How to Unring a Bell" opens the album fantastically in classic Thom Bell/Philly Soul sound. Dozier and Jean's "My Love" is truly excellent. Those are my two favorite tunes on the album.

A great idea and she picked her songwriting partners well. I have such great admiration for good songwriters, it can't be easy to write a good song.

Lots of soul, a little country and rock mixed in, too. I highly recommend it:

The Thom Bell song performed on Letterman ... trademark Bell stuff, oboe, strings, great melody and chorus.
