Funny this thread would come up I bought this book out of curiosity three weeks ago. I may be in the minority here but I thought it was good. Latoya [[and yes I do think she is a conspiracy theorist) explains herself very well and how she lied about MJ and little boys. If you believe everything she writes, Jack Gordon forced her to do these things because she thought he was going to kill her or her family members. After I read the book [[in two days it was that interesting) I thought she couldnt have let this man say these horrible things about her family but when I found out his background and all of the events that led up to her being with him she tells a pretty convincing story. What was really interesting was how popular she was overseas singing things from Moulin Rouge! She had a big audience over there. In parts of the book she comes off as a little spoiled speaking of how much money she had and how big her family was but not taken out of context she remains quite humble and well spoken. For women who have been through domestic violence this book will be a great addition to a counseling session.

I couldn't put it down. I loved reading her perspective. Her accounts of Jack Gordon were terrifying. Her view of Michael was as a sister, to estranged to friendly and beyond. Nobody knows what it's like to be a Jackson except a Jackson. I thought it was interesting that Janet was barely mentioned, as if she didn't exist. Yet there were lots of pictures with her. Fascinating.

I also couldn't put it down. I've never finished a book in a day, except for this one.

She did seem to blame Jack Gordon a lot. I know he had a lot of influence on her due to his controlling and abusive ways. She blamed him for the press conference that was held in Israel in the early 90's, where she professed that she believed her brother was guilty. She said she had no choice in the matter and read off of a piece of paper that was handed to her. Yet, when I watch the footage from the press conference, it looked like she was doing much, much more than just reading off of a piece of paper. It looked rehearsed. She claims it wasn't. So who knows. I have no doubt that Jack Gordon was responsible for many of the horrible things that went on in LaToya's life, but by the same token, it's also easy to blame everything on a person who is no longer here to defend themselves. She stood her ground when he wanted her to do a porn film...yet she couldn't stand her ground when he wanted her to lie about her brother in front of millions?? Makes me go, "Hmmmmm..."
