Thinking about FOREVER CAME TODAY and the decision to redo it years later with the J5 [just Brian Holland], did they or any part of them, revisit other songs of theirs at a later time.... particularly into the seventies or beyond ... after they had moved on from the Motown fold?

That FOREVER CAME TODAY was dusted off suggests to me that Holland felt like there was some unfinished business with that one.

They also did the reverse: they produced Dionne Warwicke's Warner Bros. album JUST BEING MYSELF. They later produced two of those songs on the Supremes: YOU ARE THE HEART OF ME and DON'T LET MY TEARDROPS BOTHER YOU.

I wish they did a version "I Always Get Caught In The Rain" with Mary. I can hear her doing wonders on that one.

I can't recall HDH revisiting any of their Motown hits for their Invictus & Hot Wax artists. However, they did produce a cover version of Smokey's "Who's Loving You" on Hot Wax's Honey Cone on their "Love, Peace & Soul" album [[formerly recorded by Brenda Holloway, The Jackson 5, The Miracles, The Supremes, and The Temptations). Edna Wright, Shelly Clark, & Carolyn Willis do a bang-up job on it -- every bit as impressive and soulful as the original Motown versions -- maybe even better!

Yes they did. Honey Cone did another Smokey Robinson Classic, "Ooh Baby Baby", on the same LP.

Hey, yeah -- you're right Eddie! The girls do an Incredible version of "Ooh Baby Baby". In fact, "Love, Peace & Soul" is a great album -- my favorite of their 4 Hot Wax albums.

The Dynamic Superiors disco version of Nowhere To Run was so awful, just cheap disco. The rest of that lp was actually pretty good. Neither that single or the lp it came from did anything and Motown dropped them. They were a good group.

I did not know that was a Holland production. The shouting lead vocals are not good that's why most of the second half is absent them.

Clavinet based sound .... Billy Preston-like. Kind of arbitrary sounding, nothing special created here. Surprised it went Top 10 disco.

brings to mind SPANK which came out a couple years later.

Did Luther Vandross ever record Stop!? [In the Name of Love, not Stop to Love] Lamont is fine here but I can totally hear Luther on it.

Funny how musical tastes differ, Bayou. I've always liked Dynamic Superior's version of "Nowhere To Run". Go figure!

I agree about NTR. I liked the rest of the album.
