Candi's show was good -- but at 83 years old [[& a cancer survivor) we can't still expect her to sound as good as she did back in the 60's / 70's.
Elton John's 2 hour set was the top one of the night. In it, he paid tribute to Tom Bell but couldn't remember which soul group helped out on backing vocals on his hit "Are You Ready" ... it was the Spinners [[as he was reminded) ...

I love Thom Bell's productions on Elton John every bit as much as his productions on The Spinners.

BTW, the back-up girls on Elton's "Are You Ready For Love" are the Sweethearts Of Sigma [[Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson, & Evette Benton). And, yes -- if memory serves -- The Spinners are in there, too.
