Eddie: A small question since you apparently are very knowledgeable on Cherry Red Records. I am interested in obtaining this forthcoming set, but being as I live in the US, I am skeptical about the shipping as well as the shipping cost.

Do you have any knowledge if there will be any retail sources in the US who will be selling this set if and when it is released? I would feel more comfortable getting it through a local source. I have never bought before from Cherry Red. Thank you. Your answer might assist others in my situation.

Yes; These collections from England's Cherry Red family of labels are available at USA outlets like Amazon USA, Deep Discount, Dusty Groove and others. This upcoming collection from The Spinners should be available for pre-order soon from one of them.

The same thing happened with Dionne Warwick back in April as the same two companies released collections on her catalog at roughly the same time [with Real Gone doing her Scepter Singles & Real Gone doing the Warner Bros. albums]. Not sure how this affected sales for either set but the limited edition Scepter Singles Collection is currently listed as 'sold out' at Real Gone's website. With these two Spinners collections coming out at around the same time, consumers do have a choice of one or the other [or buying the two collections at different times].

Time will tell if Cherry Red does a "Volume 2" for The Spinners covering the seven albums the group released on Atlantic from 1979 thru 1985.
