Back in the 1960's, UK music mag MELODY MAKER got visiting stars to do 45 reviews for them.
Here's a few words from Stevie in 1967 ...

Thanks for sharing this Jsmith! That was a thing in England back in the '60s to have music stars giving their reviews of the latest records.

Hendrix arrived in the UK in September 66. He was taken straight round to the top London clubs [[the hang outs for the likes of the Beatles, Stones, Clapton, etc). So he was soon known to the top London based musicians / singers. He then went straight into the studio & cut "£Hey Joe" that escaped on 45 around early December. He got radio & TV show work as soon as the 45 was out. Pirate radio stns started playing it instantly & the buzz got going. He did his 21st UK tour in Jan 67 [[I saw him @ the King Mojo in Sheffield) and by then his 45 was on the UK pop charts.
After the tour, he did more recording & became a fixture in a couple of exclusive London clubs. He picked up a string of female friends & other hangers-on.
Stevie mentions meeting him when in the UK, so that must have occurred in September 67. The 45 Stevie reviewed was an old US recording from around 65 / early 66.

concerning the Kim Weston record...it sounds like something Motown would tell him to say.....Mickey Stevenson produced "Uptight" which saved Stevies' career with Motown.
